A traditional large Victorian English mid-season cooking apple that ripens in early September. It remains a popular alternative to Bramley being resistant to scab and canker.

It has an excellent flavour when cooked keeping its shape ideal for pies and tarts. Large ribbed mid-green to yellow fruit.
