Lane’s Prince Albert is among the best English cooking apples that are a heavy and reliable cropper and tolerant of most situations and grow well in Wales.

Discovered by Thomas Squire of Berkhamsted in the 1840s, an opportunist who renamed the variety when Prince Albert came to stay locally.  Acidic flavour and keeps well.
